It’s been a roller coaster of a year, but we’ve made it! We’ve just been preparing our 12th monthly American sweets subscription box and soon it will be winging its way all over the UK and Northern Ireland. We’ve had our ups, such as getting featured by Heat, FHM and also Mr. Hyde and we’ve had our downs which we won’t go into (it’s a tough subject for us!)
However, none of that even matters because we couldn’t be where we are today without you, the subscribers! Seeing your photos on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages with how happy you are makes us happy which makes us work even harder to sending out another perfect box the next month. So even though it’s our birthday, we want to say a great big thank you!
You may be wondering, how Taffy Mail came to be. Well, here’s the story. Taffy Mail is run by two great friends, Ben and Jonny, who used to work together. It first started when I (Ben) went on holiday to America. It was here where my love for Smartfoods White Cheddar Popcorn was apparent. This stuff is like drugs, it’s so damn addictive. When I came back home, I tried to find it online, with no luck and I wasn’t prepared to pay the extortionate prices to buy a case of the stuff from a Canadian seller. I was also not happy to pay some of the prices some American sweets stores charge for other American candy I liked.
Meanwhile, Jonny was a subscriber to another subscription box for gaming and film items. When we got together every now and then, we would always come up with some crazy ideas, and well, Taffy Mail stuck. We continued working on Taffy Mail to a point where we was happy with it and opened up the website for customer orders.
A little over twelve months later and here we are! We’ve sent out thousands of American sweets, sodas and treats and we believe we’ve made quite a lot of people happy with their subscription box – it beats paying crazy prices in the American candy shops in the UK when you think about it!
We’re continually listening to feedback and there are a few things we’d still like to improve upon, but it’s a marathon and not a race, so it will get there. A couple of things we’re working on at the moment is more recipes and ways to make your American candy go further, over in our blog. We’re also trying to update our previous boxes so people can see what they’ve missed or some of the great examples of American candy boxes we’ve put together.
Again, Taffy Mail wouldn’t exist without the love and support you’ve given us, so thank you, we really mean it. We love curating mystery candy boxes and we hope you love receiving them!
