Are you looking to make your haul of American sweets go further? On Taffy Mail Unwrapped – the blog of the UK’s only rolling American candy subscription service – we provide ways of making the contents of your box of candy last even longer!
This month’s Taffy Mail Extra contains a generous helping of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Whilst they are awesome on their own, you can also bake them into peanut butter cakes:
You will Need:
150g Plain White Flour
1/4 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Baking Powder
100g Peanut Butter
100g Granulated Sugar
100g Light Muscovado Sugar
1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
6 Mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
Preheat your oven to 170°C. Mix the flour, baking powder and salt together. Set aside.
Combine the butter, peanut butter and both sugars together. Add the egg and vanilla essence.
Mix in the dry ingredients.
Take the dough and roll into balls about 1 1/2″ in diameter. Place in baking tray and put in oven for 10 minutes, until the balls start to flatten and turn brown.
While you wait, unwrap the Mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
Remove the cakes from the oven. Immediately push the Peanut Butter Cups into the mixture.
Allow 10 minutes to cool before removing from tray. Eat while warm for best effects!
A decent way to make your peanut butter cups go a little bit further, using only 6 from the sizeable packet included in this month’s Taffy Mail Extra- not bad at all! These Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Cakes went down very well in the office, with some very positive comments about the peanut butter cake dough – give it a go and let us know how you get on!
